Early Life

Faheem Rashad Najm “T-Pain” was born in Flordia on the 30th September 1985.

His stage name is a short nickname for “Tallahassee Pain” and was chosen because of the hardships he experienced while living there.

T-Pain grew up in a Muslim household where he expressed his lack of interest in the concept of the religion.

At the age of 10, he turned his bedroom into a music studio where he started to make his own beats for the first time.

Career

T-Pain’s singing ability was on clear display in the first notes of his breakthrough R&B single ‘I’m Sprung”.

The Tallahassee, Florida native came up as a rapper in a group who called themselves ‘Nappy Headz’. T-Pain later began his career as a solo artist, and went pro as ‘T-Pain’.
